The Montgomery County Primary Election is right around the corner, and it is going to take every single one of us to get our five endorsed candidates elected to public office. And that means it's time to nudge your neighbors! Join us on Zoom and JUFJ Campaign Fund staff will give you the tools you need to send a neighbor-to-neighbor letter, make calls to Jewish community members about our endorsed candidates, and more. You are welcome to drop in for 10 minutes while you send out your letter, or stay for an hour to chat with us about the election.

During primary Election Day in Montgomery County, dozens of JUFJ Campaign Fund volunteers work the polls to speak with voters about our endorsed candidates. Election Day is Tuesday, June 23 from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Let us know your interest in working the polls and we'll follow up to confirm all the details!

Organizing in support of candidates in the primary is hard work, and regardless of the outcomes of the election, our work deserves celebration! Every child deserves to live a life with dignity, respect, and safety. JUFJ and the JUFJ Campaign Fund have worked for years to ensure that students in Montgomery County public schools of all races, abilities, and genders are given the resources they need to learn, heal, and breathe life into the world. This year, our work includes considering the candidates running for Board of Education, and determining which ones will treat all students with dignity and respect, and which ones could be dangerous to some of the most vulnerable kids in our community. Join the Community Safety and Justice team on Zoom for a strategic conversation about the general election. 

Jewish tradition teaches us that everyone has the right to safe, dignified, and affordable housing. Join JUFJ's Housing Justice Team as we approve our annual goals, discuss county-level housing legislation that we've been tracking, and strategize on how to defeat Ballot Question A, which would significantly harm our ability to pass annual operating budgets that prioritize safe housing, funding for kids in our public schools, and other critical social services. JUFJers from all teams are welcome to attend.

Jewish sacred texts declare that destroying even one life is akin to destroying a whole world. But here in Montgomery County, lives are destroyed every day, especially Black and brown lives, by our systems of immigration enforcement, policing, and school discipline. The JUFJ and JUFJ Campaign Fund Community Safety and Justice Team is meeting on Zoom to set our goals for 5787, and to discuss what's at stake in the upcoming Board of Education elections. Join us to be part of this critical conversation about racial justice in our County and in our schools.

Sukkot, or the Festival of Booths, reminds us every year that everything in our lives is impermanent, that we must work to harvest the fruits of our labors, and that those fruits are sweetest when we share them with our community. And that's exactly what we are celebrating at the Festival of Voting Booths this year: the rapidly disappearing election season, the important work needed to win local elections, and the sweetness of building a Montgomery County where all of us can share in the bounty of the harvest. Join us as we share a light vegetarian dinner, learn about some of the important Board of Education choices on our ballots this fall, and take action to shape the future of our county. This is a family-friendly event and kids are more than welcome! We will have kid-friendly food and crafts, and there is a playground, restrooms, and ample parking nearby.

There is a critical Montgomery County Board of Education race on the ballot this November, and the JUFJ Campaign Fund has proudly endorsed Omar Lazo in this race! Lazo is committed to making sure that kids of all races, abilities, and genders have the resources and support they need to be successful. He is running against a dangerous right-wing opponent, and in this non-partisan race, we need all hands on deck to make sure he defeats her at the ballot box. Come learn how you can help elect a board member who is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all of our students, no matter their race, ethnicity, immigration status, or sexual or gender identity.
